कॉमन ग्राउंड पहल क्या है?
Common Ground is a collaborative initiative to shift how change happens in the governance of India’s natural resources. The initiative brings together civil society, governments, market actors, and technology communities to address systemic barriers — from exclusion and ecological degradation to fractured and siloed systems of environmental governance and rural livelihoods. At its core, Common Ground invests its efforts in responsive social infrastructure, open public goods, and plural, self-governed networks to tackle the interlinked crises of climate, livelihoods, and equity.
नागरिक समाज, बाज़ार, सरकार और प्रौद्योगिकी साझेदार हमारे आगे बढ़ता नेटवर्क का हिस्सा हैं और यह नेटवर्क भारत के कॉमन्स के विकेंद्रीकृत और समावेशी प्रबंधन के लिए समर्पित है.
इस सहयोगपूर्ण समूह/गठबंधन के जरिए पार्टनर्स साथ मिलकर रणनीतियाँ बनाते हैं, कार्य समूहों का नेतृत्व करते हैं और नतीजों के लिए पारस्परिक जवाबदेही साझा करते हैं. वहीं, एक व्यापक गठबंधन शिक्षण-प्रशिक्षण, सह-निर्माण और सामूहिक प्रभाव के जरिए पूरे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र/इको-सिस्टम में हुए बदलावों में सहयोग करता है. यह संरचना विश्वास, कुशलता और साझा उद्देश्य को केंद्र में रखते हुए विकेंद्रीकृत नेतृत्व और विविध पद्धियों को स्वीकार करती है.
हमारा कार्य क्षेत्र
We began exploring geographies and identified two broad categories with a predominance of Commons:

Forest and tribal dominated landscapes in central India

Pastures and mixed farming systems in the dry peninsular central India
We are exploring expanding into mountainous regions and geographies with a high concentration of inland waterbodies.
We are working with partner organisations in Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu to strengthen landscape-level strategies by
integrating commons-based approaches into existing agricultural, livelihoods, and natural resource programmes.
This includes expanding tenure rights recognition under the Forest Rights Act and co-designing next-generation interventions to support ecological restoration, improved local self-governance, and increased rural incomes.
Alongside partners such as the Centre for Research in Schemes and Policies (CRISP), we are beginning to explore possibilities in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, guided by partner interest and the potential for landscape-level collaboration.

लिविंग लैंडस्केप्स
कॉमन ग्राउंड सार्वजनिक विमर्श/चिंतन, ग्रामीण विकास और शासन प्रणालियों में कॉमन्स के अहमियत को फिर से स्थपित करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करता है. इसमें शामिल हैं:
लिविंग लैंडस्केप्स, एक आधार संगठन, नेतृत्व, मार्गदर्शन और रणनीतिक सामंजस्य के जरिए कॉमन ग्राउंड के पहल को आगे बढ़ाने में मदद करता है. यह साझेदार/पार्टनर्स, सरकार, लोकोपकारी संस्था और अन्य पारिस्थितिकी किरदारों के नेटवर्क के साथ संबंधों को मंजबूती प्रदान करता है, विनियामक अनुपालन सुनिश्चित करता है और साथ ही इस पहल में विश्वास, कुशलता और विविधता स्थापित करने में सहायता करता है. यह साझेदारों के साथ मिलकर कॉमन ग्राउंड को सफल बनाने वाली क्षमताएं विकसित करता है.
